Senior Lecturer & Researcher at University of Sydney.Giuseppe Carabetta’s research expertise lies in the field of employment law, particularly, public sector employment law. He is recognised as the principal Australian scholar in police employment law. He has been invited to consult with a range of professional audiences in relation to his research including a national Workplace Relations Committee of Inquiry and various consultative meetings with federal Workplace Relations Ministers. He has also worked on numerous submissions to Government on public sector employment law issues and has been involved in discussions between the Police Federation of Australia and the Federal Government on public sector employment issues.
Giuseppe has won a multitude of teaching awards at the National, University and Faculty levels, including two National Award Citations and two Vice-Chancellor’s Awards for Outstanding Teaching. He currently co-presents the University’s Institute for Teaching and Learning workshops on Student Engagement in Lectures. He has also collaborated on large group teaching projects aimed at supporting the development of newer academics and mentored colleagues’ teaching in his capacity as a university teaching mentor. In 2013, he was nominated as an Honorary Fellow of St Andrew’s College within the University of Sydney in recognition of his outstanding teaching and services to the college.
Giuseppe is a regular visiting scholar at the University of Bologna, Italy. He also moderates various university and industry panel discussions and recently moderated the Data Privacy, Marketing, Research and the Consumer Leaders Forum’ for the Association of Market and Social Research Organisation.Giuseppe has also published under the name Joseph Carabetta.
