Lorraine Stefani is Professor of Higher Education Strategic Engagement at the University of Auckland (UOA), New Zealand. Her expertise in organizational change and development has led to consultancy roles in many countries including Switzerland, Hungary, Hong Kong, Australia, South Africa and most recently, Saudi Arabia. Lorraine has been, and continues to be involved in many strategic educational initiatives including: President of HETL; Member of the Education Advisory Group for the New Zealand Royal College of General Practitioners (RNZCGP); Director of the Northern Regional Training Hub (NoRTH) for Health Workforce New Zealand; Member of Inaugural Board of Directors for Ako Aotearoa (NZ National Centre for Tertiary Teaching Excellence); Member of Advisory Board of Ako Aotearoa; Member of Inaugural Board of Directors for the Institute of Learning and Teaching in HE (UK); Chair of the Personal Development Planning in HE (Scotland) Group).
Lorraine was educated at the Universities of Aberdeen and Glasgow and University College London. She is a member of many professional societies and associations including Senior Fellow of the Staff and Educational Development Association (SEDA UK), Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA UK) and member of the International Leadership Association (ILA). She has published widely on a range of contemporary issues in higher education and presented keynote lectures at many national and international conferences. Her current interests include interrogation of leadership models in complex organizations, pedagogy for the 21st century and the changing nature of higher education provision.
