Associate Provost, Associate VP for Academic Affairs, Professor of Education, and Director, Center for Teaching, Learning, & Academic Technology at Dillard University; Past President of the HBCU Faculty Development Network and President of POD.He is the Provost, Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, Professor of Education, and Director of the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Academic Technology at Dillard University. Previously, he was Dean of the College of Professional Studies, Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs, Director of Faculty Development, and Professor of Physical Education at Johnson C. Smith University. He has a PhD from The Ohio State University, an M.A. from University of Michigan, and a B.S. degree from Johnson C. Smith University. He is the President of the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Faculty Development Network and serve as a faculty development consultant, evaluator, and presenter at the Collaboration for the Advancement of College Teaching and Learning and the Teaching Learning with Technology (TLT) Group. He is the President-Elect of the Professional and Organizational Development (POD) Network.
He led the learning communities program at Johnson C. Smith University from 1998-2007. At Dillard University, learning communities form the structure for their Quality Enhancement Plan. He has provided the training for faculty to implement learning communities in freshman studies programs, and in and across major programs. His learning communities work is focused on program coordination, and professional development in the design and teaching of learning communities, and assessment and evaluation of learning community programs.
