The Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations, which is part of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations, accredited the International Higher Education Teaching and Learning Association (HETL) with special consultative status with the UN. This officially makes HETL part of The Conference of NGOs in Consultative Relationship with the United Nations. With this UN status, HETL will expand its mission to include the following thematic areas: human rights and social-economic justice. This UN status further fosters HETL’s role as an inclusive global think tank for advanced educational research and international higher education development.
